Being comfortable with being uncomfortable used to be a life skill. Still remember my maths teacher who only gave As and Bs when even the gods of maths wouldn't doubt it was an A or B. We all hated him for that but even I the maths philistine passed with flying colours.

‘When did we become so afraid of letting people struggle?’

I like this framing. We’re overcomfortable, in a way. I remember teasing, being teased, feeling the wild love in that, like horses swaying over the fields.

Might be time to bring it back to the dusty world of grown-ups.
